Two minutes with...Business Development Manager Chris Squance
So Chris, when did you join AutoQ?
I'm still a bit of a newbie, I only joined back in June this year. Before that, I worked in used car sales as well as vehicle leasing and contract hire for numerous years.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
It has to be the motivation to go to the gym; however that motivation ends as soon as I remember McDonalds is open from 7am. Unfortunately, it is either the kids getting me out of bed (usually earlier than I would like) or the dogs tail banging off the wardrobe.
How would you describe your job to a child?
I do this daily; with two kids of my own they often ask what I do, to put it simply...I sell 'vroom vrooms' in Belfast to people who need a new one.
Choose three words to describe your role?
Challenging, rewarding and fun.
If you could swap jobs with someone, who would it be?
No one! I love what I do, the thanks I get from customers - and helping to make Auto Q repeat customers who wouldn't want to do business anywhere else - is reward enough.
What do you like most about your job?
That's a difficult question, I like a lot about my job. I enjoy making a difference and working as part of a team to achieve our goals in the business. Every day is different in the motor trade, you just never know what is going to unfold during the day ahead. Let's not forget what we all like most, seeing that happy customer drive off in their new shiny car!
How do you relax after a hard day of work?
There's nothing better than kicking the feet up, turning on the TV and overdosing yourself with a Nexflix series and, of course, a cold tin of Coke!
What is your guilty pleasure?
It hasto be listening to some country music, particularly Uncle Hugo's radio show. Your Uncle Hugo loves ye!
What's your dream car?
It has to be the Bugatti Veyron, an all-time favourite of mine.
